A Sole Proprietorship is the simplest and most commonly adopted business structure in India, ideal for individual entrepreneurs, professionals, traders, and small businesses. It is owned and managed by a single person, offering ease of setup and minimal compliance requirements.

There is no separate registration for a Proprietorship Firm in India. A proprietorship is established through business-specific registrations such as GST Registration, Shops & Establishments Registration, MSME (Udyam) Registration, Trade License, Import Export Code (IEC), or other applicable registrations, depending upon the nature of the business.
